IDW releases three comics on Madfire platform

Just in case my previous post wasn’t “news-related” enough …

IDW comics is releasing three of its comic series on Madfire, a comic platform that allows digital readers to experience their comics with partial animation.

I love this technological blending of literature, sound, and imagery. Technology is allowing us to re-imagine what a book even is. What would you call such partially-animated comic strip? It doesn’t fall clearly into any category we have thus far.  I would like to see this sort of technology used in books of other subject matters, though. Imagine how exciting it would be to use this technology on, say, the Hunger Games trilogy, or even what it would be like to use it on something like “The Things They Carried.”
